Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can I register on the day?
A. Yes, you can but it is easier and cheaper to register online. Plus you'll receive training tips and support in the build-up to the event.
You must pre-register online for the Children's Challenge as this is a very popular event with limited places and we will have to turn people away if they try to register on the day and there are no places left. We really don't want to do that so it's best that you register online to secure your place and we don't have to disappoint any children.
Q. Are dogs allowed at the event?
A. Sadly no dogs are allowed at the event, except for guide dogs.
Q. Can I bring my children?
A. Children are allowed to come and watch as long as they are supervised by an adult and are not left unsupervised whilst you run.
Children aged 15 years+ on the day can also take part in the 10k race. Children under 18 years old need parental permission. Children of any age can run the 5k, although those under11 must have parent supervision. The Children's Challenge is open to children from 4-11 years old (reception to year 6).
Please note there are no baby changing facilities.
Q. Can I run in fancy dress?
A. You can run in fancy dress for any of the events. We actively encourage running in fancy dress for the 5k fun run!
Q. How would you describe the terrain for the 10k and 5k races?
A. The first 5k of the 10k course is undulating and hilly. The second half of the 10k course is mainly flat on roads/pavements. The 5k course is mainly flat on roads/pavements. Both start and finish on the sports field.
Q. I'm injured/my child is ill, can I transfer the place?
A. No. Unfortunately, all places are non-transferable and non-refundable, as per the registration terms and conditions.
